Looks like folks are beginning to panic — and even more than before.
Amid all the other chaos, the reality of AI is hitting home for many.
Right now the general population is being exposed to ChatGPT (and it’s implications) and the supposed apocalyptic effect it will have on the world.
Thirty years ago, I was writing college papers about AI and such. I’ve used tools in the AI world for several years. This is not new to many of us. We already saw what was happening decades ago — especially if we were immersed in technology (my prior corporate experience was in the tech sector so I saw the rapidness of change and how machine was marginalizing man at every twist and turn).
Anyone with a brain could see we’d eventually end up in a future that pitted man’s future relevance against a “machine” that man made.
I’ve lived long enough to know that one day THIS day would come.
And, here we are.
We don’t know what will happen next, except for the fact it’s going to change every aspect of our life. We all must face that. As long as you’re on this planet, you’ll be affected.
Life is a constant and consistent test of our resilience to change.
How fast will things change? No one knows.
What areas of life will be impacted? Pretty much everything.
Yes, it’s going to affect jobs, and income and lifestyle and your value as a contributor to life on the planet. It will impact future generations even more so.
It will likely sideline a lot of jobs and people at an unprecedented rate. It’s not going to take 5 years, it will happen more quickly. That’s not doom and gloom. That’s a fact.
If you’re not concerned, you’re not paying attention.
And, only you can control yourself and your reaction to this change.
My wish for you is that you do not allow yourself to be submerged in full-on panic and anxiety over this. I’ve been reviewing various articles and such and it’s indicating an ever-growing pit of despair.
Do not program those responses into your being. Make the decision to make better thought choices.
You have a lot of years ahead that you still need to live and work and remain productive.
You need a strategy that’s right for you.
And, in this case, you’ll have to figure it all out during the ensuing chaos.
It’s like building a plane while you’re flying it!
Fear, panic and anxiety will only create a cascade of chaos, dangerous neural circuitry, and horrible mind/body outcomes if you allow yourself to succumb to “all the stuff out there that’s doom and gloom.”
Be careful what you allow into your eyes and ears. You can certainly be aware of what’s going on in the world.
Choose your content wisely and don’t marinate in it. Rather than spending time scrolling through negativity, invest that time figuring out your future plan.
Newsflash. Humans are resilient. They adapt. Everyone should have learned that through the pandemic.
We have a choice — each and every one of us.
If you’ve survived this long, there’s a whole history of EVIDENCE that points to indicators that you’ll continue to survive. I have faith in you.
Now it’s time for you to step up and have faith in you.
> Will you need to learn new things? Yep.
> Will you need to learn how to control your anxiety and runaway thoughts? Yep.
> Will you need to reprioritize your time to do the above two things? Yes, you will. So clear your calendar folks!
> Might you need to completely re-do, re-invent, and re-organize your life at 30, 40, 50, 60 or 70 years of age? Possibly.
How do you learn new and productive thoughts?
By repetition, holding the vision for positive things, and controlling the inputs into your eyes and ears.
It’s your full time job (in addition to all the other things you do) and you must be relentless at doing this until the day you move on to whatever you define as your sweet by and by.
I’m completely confident in you and humanity’s ability to learn, grow, and adapt.
Will everything turn out perfectly for everyone? Of course not. We don’t live in some weird, bizarre, unrealistic perfect model world where bad things don’t happen to good people. That’s just not grounded in reality.
Will people suffer? Yes, some will. There is nothing on the planet or any religion or philosophy (or lack thereof) that is free from suffering. It’s part of the human condition.
Is it going to be easy? Who knows? For some it will be and for others it won’t be. Same as everything in life.
So accept what is. And figure out what YOUR future strategy will be.
I emailed countless times in the past few years that the world was only going to grow more complex — and at a faster rate.
And, here we are.
We’ve arrived.
Time for you to dig deep and find out who you really are.
It’s time to take control of your mental landscape or …
unfortunately, it will take control of you.
You have a choice. And, there’s no putting off that choice any more.
This time in history calls for it.
And, your future depends on it.
Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives,
Tara Alexandra
Pro Tip: For every minute you spend scrolling through negativity, spend triple that time thinking positive thoughts, reading or listening to uplifting content, and meditating/praying or otherwise engaging in mental exercises that calm your nervous system and create peace in your mind and body.
