These past few weeks, I’ve been speaking with friends, family and business colleagues about what they want to do in the new year. I find great inspiration in hearing about all of their exciting, creative and adventurous ideas!
One thing I know for certain: these people are awesome!
Whether they accomplish these things or not – that’s not the entire point. Being able to step up and give voice to something that is near and dear to their heart is what really matters. That shows courage. If they want whatever it is bad enough, the rest will take care of itself. I’ve seen this happen time and time again!
As you know, ideas start out as thoughts and wind their way into reality once you take what’s in your head and put it into words and actions. It’s truly the creative process!
So what types of things have people said they really want?
By far, according to the people I spoke with, writing a book was the number one most popular goal for 2015. Each and every one of us has something important to share with others. Writing a book is definitely a wonderful way to memorialize and share your gift with others.
Other plans for the new year included moving to a warmer climate, changing careers, traveling abroad, finding more clients, starting a podcast (several votes for that), starting a new business (several votes again), healthy eating, weight management, and so on.
What do you really want to accomplish?
You know when you have some really prime time all to yourself and you start thinking deeply about what you want to be, do and have? Often, it’s during those times when those things you really long for start bubbling to the surface.
My challenge to you is to take some personal prime time to think about just one thing that you truly want to pursue in the New Year. Then make a micro action plan with but one tiny step on it. That’s it. Keep it simple, stress free and easy to do. Then, once the New Year arrives, complete the step and celebrate. You’re on your way to accomplishing whatever your dream may be!
If you want to work with someone who can help you clear the decks, prioritize and systematize your 2015 so that you can stay focused on what you truly desire, let’s talk!
